Meridian Charter SOLUTIONS
Operational Solutions for Complex Environments

On the ground. In country. From day one.

Meridian Charter Solutions provides operational solutions for organisations working in complex environments. If you need to operate in Nigeria or another difficult setting, we can provide the local people, knowledge, infrastructure and operational capability to make it happen — including security where required. Led from Abuja by a team that has built operations from nothing in some of the world’s hardest environments.

Your operating partner in Nigeria.

International companies, governments, NGOs and other organisations lose time and money in Nigeria to the things nobody planned for. MCS is set up to be the Nigerian partner that helps them establish and sustain operations here — a local company on the ground that can mobilise, represent, employ, procure and support, so the people who come in can get on with the work they came to do.

Local purchasing, contracting and vendor management — equipment, services and supplies sourced and accounted for.

Recruitment and employment of Nigerian staff, with contracts, payroll, tax and pension compliance handled in-country.

Visa, expatriate quota and CERPAC processes for incoming personnel, sponsored and managed with the relevant authorities.

Day-to-day running, reporting, banking and administration in naira and US dollars, so programmes stay on track and accountable.

Site, personnel and movement security built into the support plan where required, scaled to the assessed risk.

Building capability that stays.

Lasting results come from people, not just projects. MCS can design and deliver training and capability-development programmes for organisations working in complex environments — starting with an honest assessment of what is needed, and building solutions that transfer skills, knowledge and ownership to local teams.

  1. A structured assessment of existing people, programmes, systems and facilities to identify capability gaps, priorities and the interventions required before anything is designed.

  2. Curriculum, courseware, training governance, assessment and accreditation pathways matched to the organisation, its people and its operating environment.

  3. Train-the-trainer programmes that build a local instructor and assessor cadre able to deliver, assess and sustain training long after handover.

  4. Developing leaders and teams who can plan, decide and perform under pressure in demanding environments.

  5. Hostile-environment awareness, first aid, personal security awareness and crisis-management training for staff deploying to difficult locations.

  6. Measured milestones that progressively transfer responsibility and ownership of training to local institutions and staff, creating capability that can be sustained independently.

Integrated Expertise

MCS works with trusted specialist partners and subject-matter experts where additional expertise, accreditation, technology or delivery capacity is required. We assemble and manage the right team around the requirement while retaining responsibility for the overall solution and its outcomes.

When a place stops working, we get it running.

After an earthquake, a flood or a conflict, the hardest part is standing up an operation in a place where nothing works as it should. MCS is built to deploy to disaster- and conflict-affected areas and set up and run that operation for governments, NGOs, international agencies and companies — assessing needs, building shelter, moving aid and keeping teams safe — drawing on first-hand experience of doing exactly that.

Benjamin Grant

Founder & Chief Executive Officer

Benjamin Grant founded Meridian Charter Solutions on a career spent standing up operations where little or nothing existed. A former Royal Marines Commando, he went on to lead armed protective-security teams in Iraq, Kurdistan and Saudi Arabia — commanding expatriate and local national staff and delivering hostile-environment training to NGO personnel — and later served on frontline military operations in Ukraine.

In humanitarian crisis response he built operations from the ground up. After the 2023 Turkey earthquake he led site operations, procurement and logistics for field kitchens feeding thousands of people a day, and went on to do the same after the Morocco earthquake, the Greek wildfires and the conflict in Israel. He spent ten months leading operations inside Gaza, building the warehousing, convoys and local teams that kept aid moving, and later oversaw anti-trafficking and search-and-rescue deployments across South America.

A British–Nigerian dual national, he lives and works full time in Lagos and leads MCS directly.
