Meridian Charter Commodities COMMODITIES
Operating Principle

Source with discipline. Move with certainty. Settle with trust.

Meridian Charter Commodities is the trading and supply division of Meridian Charter Group, established to source, finance and move physical commodities across African and international markets. The company pairs on-the-ground origination with institutional-grade compliance, verification and settlement discipline — so counterparties transact with clarity on quality, title and delivery.

One desk. Origination to settlement.

Meridian Charter Commodities is the trading and supply division of Meridian Charter Group — a single accountable desk across the trade lifecycle. We source verified material from licensed producers, structure the logistics and finance, and settle against clear terms, with every mandate resting on the group standard of honest assessment, documented provenance and disciplined execution.

Source

Verified origination

Material sourced directly from licensed miners and accredited aggregators, with origin known and recorded at the point of purchase.

Verify

Assayed & graded

Every parcel weighed, assayed, tested and graded before value is agreed — nothing transacts on assumption.

Settle

Clean settlement

Priced against the material itself and settled directly on documented terms of title and delivery.

Precious metals first. A broader mineral basket behind them.

Gold anchors the book, alongside silver — traded in raw, doré, semi-refined and refined form. The same desk handles copper, diamonds, coloured gemstones and other base metals and solid minerals, each transacted on documented provenance.

Au
Gold

The core of the book — sourced as doré and refined bars from licensed producers, assayed for fineness before value is agreed.

Ag
Silver

Sourced and matched to buyers through our precious-metals network — verified for weight and grade.

Cu
Copper

Originated from producer relationships and introduced to end-buyers — a base-metal line we source and structure.

Known origin. Proven grade.

Material is bought only from licensed miners and accredited aggregators, qualified and recorded before intake. Every parcel is weighed on calibrated scales, assayed and tested for fineness or metal content, then graded, sorted and valued — so both sides transact against numbers, not claims. Provenance is documented from the point of acquisition through to delivery, structured to satisfy export and counterparty due-diligence.

Weighed in front of you. Settled with certainty.

We buy directly and settle on our own account — priced against the material itself, on documented terms of title and delivery. What you bring is weighed and assessed in your presence, and recurring suppliers trade on standing terms once qualified. Beyond gold, we act as originator and intermediary — sourcing silver, copper and other minerals from qualified suppliers and connecting them to buyers on structured terms.

What we buy

Metals & minerals in any form

Gold and silver as doré or refined bars, platinum-group material, diamonds, gemstones, copper and solid minerals — raw through refined.

How we verify

Assessed in your presence

Weighed on calibrated scales, assayed and graded at intake in front of the supplier — the basis of the price is visible.

How we settle

Direct, documented settlement

An agreed price settled directly by the company against clear title and delivery — not on consignment.

Benjamin Grant

Founder & Chief Executive Officer

Benjamin Grant is a British entrepreneur and former Royal Marines Commando with a career built across a range of industries and jurisdictions — founding and structuring companies, and operating in some of the most demanding environments in the world. British-born with Nigerian heritage, he is the son of Helen Grant OBE, a British politician and former UK Prime Minister's Trade Envoy to Nigeria.

Much of his experience lies in building the supply lines and infrastructure to move goods from origin to market — through active conflict zones and in the wake of humanitarian and natural-disaster crises, where logistics, security and trust have to be engineered from the ground up. That same discipline shapes how Meridian Charter Commodities structures its trade routes and settlement today.

Alongside this he has operated in the gold and precious-metals trade across Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates — where he also holds a Dubai-based company. He founded Meridian Charter Commodities and serves as its Chief Executive Officer, leading the company's sourcing, verification and settlement from Lagos.

Doctrine
We price what we can prove and settle what we agree. Origin, weight and grade are documented before value changes hands — certainty is the product.
